BIO
I am the founder of Ahra Films and an independent director/producer with a decade of experience crafting beautiful, socially conscious documentaries and multimedia projects.
Over nine years at PBS stations KCET, Link TV and PBS SoCal, I created a wide range of original documentaries and docu-series including historical biographies, artist profiles, social movement histories, as well as films about environmental justice issues and Indigenous peoples. For my work at PBS, I won 23 Los Angeles Area Emmy® Awards, 17 LA Press Club Awards and 10 Golden Mike Awards®.
Prior to my work at PBS, I worked in public radio at KPCC on the Madeleine Brand Show and at the nonprofit 826LA. A decade ago, I was a PhD student in modern German history at UC San Diego. I hold a Masters degree from UC San Diego and a Bachelors degree in history from Boston College.
